Appointments

There are two ways to make an appointment to see a doctor at the Mapperley Surgery.

  • You can book a routine appointment online or at reception at any time with any doctor. This will usually be at least two weeks ahead.
  • Urgent Same-Day Appointments: If you would like an URGENT same-day appointment you should phone or attend the practice at 8am. We also have a smaller volume of appointments that become available at 2pm.
When you phone the practice you will be placed in a telephone call queue and you may have a short wait, but you will usually be offered an appointment that day.

Due to the current demand we are unlikely to still have appointments available if you call after these time slots (even if you call just 10 minutes after 8am or 2pm).

We are trying hard to provide a service with a good balance between accessibility and convenience and would welcome any constructive comments.

Our Practice Nurses have specialized in many conditions and can manage most of our patients who have a chronic disease such as Diabetes, COPD, Asthma etc so it is not always necessary to make an appointment with the doctor for your annual review of your chronic disease.

All patients who are on any repeat medication should have a medication review once a year. These appointments usually need to be with the doctor.

It is advised that you call the practice after 10am for non-urgent matters such as requesting sick notes, prescription queries or to discuss blood test results.
