  • Are you eligible for pension credit?

    You can access the information in a number of ways

    To claim Pension Credit*, either:

    *Pension Credit claims must be made by 21 December 2024 to unlock the Winter Fuel Payment in Winter 2024-25.
    If you want to apply by phone, you need to call to apply by 20 December 2024.


    It’s useful to have the following details to hand when making a claim:

    • National Insurance number
    • Bank account details
    • Details of income, savings and investments
    • Information about pension (if applicable)
    • Details of any housing costs (such as service charges or ground rent)

    If your last two diabetic eye screens found no sign of diabetic retinopathy, you will now be invited for screening every 2 years. This follows expert advice.

    Diabetic eye screening is important as it helps to prevent sight loss. Have regular eye tests and consult your optometrist or optician if you notice changes to your eyesight.

  • Systems Reboot

    To improve our network speeds and ability to offer service to our patients, our practice will have a reboot of our IT systems. This will impact our service ability during the times:

    • Thursday 9th February 2023, 1pm at Victoria Health Centre
    • Wednesday 15th February 2023, 10am at Mapperley Practice.

    We thank our patients for their tolerance during this time as routine and urgent services may be impacted for a short period.

  • Do you use a blue inhaler?

    • Aerosol spray inhalers use propellant gases that contribute to climate change
    • Some inhalers have a lower carbon footprint than others, even if they contain the same medicine
    • To reduce carbon footprint, we are switching to a lower carbon footprint inhaler, Salamol
    • This change may affect the taste of the inhaler, but will not affect asthma care
